Undefeated Summit Beats Cranford to Advance to State Finals

Hilltoppers best Cougars for second time this season.

The Summit High School football team has done it again. The Hilltoppers beat the Cranford Cougars for the second time this season, winning 35-14 in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 semifinal round Saturday at Tatlock Park.

The Hilltoppers, defending champions, head to the State finals in pursuit of their eighth state playoff title, and will face Parsippany Hills High School at either MetLife Stadium or Kean University.

"This was a great win for the program and community today," said head coach Kevin Kostibos. "Anytime you can have an entire town cheer on its athletes to victory, it's a good day. We plan on getting back to basics over the next two weeks and making sure to give Parsippany Hills our best effort."
