Memorial Day Marchers Needed

Summit invites all organizations to volunteer in this year's all-American Memorial Day Parade, featuring The American Legion Lindsey Street Post 322, Summit Police, Fire and EMS, Scout Troops, the Summit High School Band and several other local organizations.  The parade will assemble outside the Bouras Building, located on Beechwood Road at 10:00 AM.  Marchers will proceed from the Bouras Building to the Village Green for a special ceremony honoring all of the brave men and women who gave their lives for this great nation.

All interested organizations may contact Andy Smith at asmith@sslegalservices.com in order to save their spot in this year's parade.  Interested in marching but don't have an organization to march with?  March with your friends at the Department of Community Programs.  Simply look for our purple banners and shirts at the start of the parade.
Seniors want to march?  Why not ride?  Seniors are invited to meet at 2 Chestnut Street at 9:30 AM to board Big Wheel - A Service of Summit Senior Connections.  Summit Community Programs wants to ensure that all Summit residents are able to participate in this special celebration and is therefore offering a chance for seniors to ride along the parade route in Big Wheel.  All interested riders are asked to R.S.V.P. as soon as possible to the Summit DCP at 908-277-2932 as space is limited.

Mark your calendars and join us as a proud marcher in this year's parade.  Help honor our heroes and keep the patriotic spirit alive and thriving.  For more information, please visit us online at www.cityofsummit.org/recreation or call 908-277-2932.
