What's Popular at the Summit Free Market

Insights into the most popular items at the Summit Free Market. Spring dates are April 28, May 5, and May 12, 8 AM-3 PM at the Summit Transfer Station.

The spring Summit Free Market event starts this Saturday, April 28th, 8 AM-3 PM, at the Summit Transfer Station on New Providence Road. Since the beginnings of the Summit Free Market in 2009, the twice-yearly event has been an incredible hit, with residents from all over the city bringing quality items to share and finding new treasures to take home.

One of the most frequently asked questions about the Summit Free Market is: What kinds of things are you looking for?

The answer is simple:  Anything you bring should be something that YOU PERSONALLY would like to take home in its current condition. These items range from household decorations to tools for the yard to a new piece of athletic equipment. But certain items are more popular than others, and tend to be taken as soon as they arrive at the Transfer Station.

Here are some items to definitely bring or look for at the Summit Free Market this spring:

  • Bicycles for all ages
  • Sports equipment, such as golf clubs, baseball bats, basketball hoops, snowboards, and skis
  • Home furnishings, including sofas, chairs, tables, mirrors, and lamps
  • Kitchen gadgets and small household appliances
  • Dishes, pots, pans, and bake ware
  • Unique pieces of artwork and artistically made home décor
  • Books in every subject imaginable

Items are quality checked and in excellent working order. The list of items that are not allowed (restricted items) can be found online at www.summitfreemarket.org. You can also see items listed online that are available any time, not just during the seasonal events. And you can post items there anytime that you want to donate.

Remember, the spring dates for the Summit Free Market are April 28th, May 5 th, and May 12 th, 8 AM-3 PM. Hope to see you there!
