During a busy evening in which Christmas trees were scheduled to arrive for the squad’s annual Christmas tree sale, the squad covered four calls for ambulances in a single hour. Said crew chief Kari Phair, “We often respond to a lot of calls during a single day, but covering four calls in an hour is pretty rare. “ In addition to a scheduled transport, the squad responded to three 911 emergency calls.
Over the weekend, the squad’s juniors were out in force selling Christmas trees at the squad building. “We had the biggest weekend of sales since we started in 2006,” said Chris Raymond, who organizes the tree sale each year. “It was very busy. We appreciate the support of so many people.”
The First Aid Squad also provided standby ambulance cover at the tree lighting ceremony at the village green on Sunday.

In addition, the Squad recently announced its public capital campaign to raise money to replace its aging headquarters building. The campaign has already raised $3.8 million. The squad is looking for donations to meets its $5 million goal.
The squad invites all Summit residents to visit the building, hear about their plans, and buy a Christmas tree or wreath for the holidays! The annual tree sale continues during evening hours and over the weekends. The squad is located across from the Middle School and next to the Art Center.
