The Summit Common Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. On the agenda is a safety ordinance that would prohibit left turns at Franklin Place and Summit Avenue.

The council will also discuss releasing $400,000 from Affordable Housing Trust Fund to put toward the purchase of 43 Glendale Road by Our House, Inc. While the council heard a presentation on the proposal at its Sept. 17 meeting, a vote on the matter was tabled.

Bullying, Cyber-bullying and Youth Depression Program presented by John Halligan will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lawton C. Johnson Middle School. Halligan’s son, Ryan, committed suicide in 2003 after being bullied by classmates at school and on-line.  He was only 13 years old.

The Junior League of Summit Thrift Shop, located at 37 DeForest Ave., has announced its upcoming Halloween costume event will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
