Thanksgiving & Design ...

A blog by home design expert Virginia Liberato

A few tips as you are getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving...

When thinking about color schemes for holiday decorating, embrace the existing palette in your home. You're just enhancing your home with colors you already have for this special time of the year.  Traditionally...rich hues of brown, gold, and orange are used, I love to add a pop of purple.  i am also seeing a trend towards softer, neutral palettes as well...white pumpkins, ivory lines, burlap. At this time of the year, I am a big fan of bringing nature in...fruits, vegetables, berries, and branches are fabulous items to use.

Bring the holiday feeling into every room in your home...Table settings are of course the focus, don't forget fireplaces, servers, mirrors, and of course your entry or porch.

Whether you are hosting a formal sit down dinner or casual gathering, remember to enjoy what this day is about and what it means to you...

Happy Thanksgiving!
