Fall Book Donation Day in Chatham

CDs, movies and books are all welcome.

Have some books you want to give away?

The Friends of the will hold one collection day on Saturday, Sept. 22, the same day as the Green Fair of the Chathams and the Chatham Borough Farmers Market.

All books in good condition, whether adult or children's, hardcover or paperback, are welcome, as are DVDs and CDs. Anyone with items to donate can leave them in the back hall of the library near the elevators between 9:30 a.m. and noon.

The library cannot sell encyclopedias, video tapes, textbooks, magazines, condensed books or mildewed or torn books.

The collection day on Sept. 22 will be the only day for the rest of the year the Friends of the Library will collect items for their . The next collection will be in January 2013.

All proceeds from the book sale are used to buy new books and materials for the Library of the Chathams.
