Summit's 14th Annual MLK Day of Service
Volunteer opportunities will be held in various locations on Jan. 16.
Summit's 14th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service will be held on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 from 9am - 9pm. Service projects, celebrations and commemorative speeches will be held in various locations in Summit.
Advance donations of items to be sorted the week before the Day of Service are very much needed to make the most of the service hour time generously given by youth and adults motivated by the spirit of Dr. King's ideals to help one's neighbors who are in need of economic and social justice as well as a feeling of warm connection to community.
Youth and adults of all ages are welcome to join hand-in-hand to become more familiar with one another and to Live the Dream that Dr. King, Jr. articulated for all. Visit www.shapingsummittogether.org for the MLK Day 2012 flyer at the beginning of January.
