Naval Academy Student Visits, Small Business Saturday This Week

Check back to find out which Summit businesses are open on Thanksgiving.

Parents/guardians are invited to listen to a presentation by Naval Academy Midshipman First Class Carey Fries, Summit High Class of 2010, facilitated by Summit Councilman Patrick Hurley, United States Naval Academy Class of 1987, at 3:15 p.m. Monday at Lawton C. Johnson Middle School in the Orchestra Room (Room 160).

Fries will offer a second presentation Monday evening as American Legion Post 322 and the Summit Elks will host an information session about the United States Naval Academy at 8 p.m. Monday at the Elks Club, 40 Maple Street in Summit.

Summit will celebrate Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. Parking will be free throughout Summit on both days courtesy of the Summit Common Council, American Express and Patch.com.
