Check Out the Summit YMCA for Free This Weekend

The best part of the week kicks off Friday with Free Fridays at the Summit YMCA  If you've considered becoming a Y member, this is the perfect opportunity to check out the offerings for yourself. Take a tour and try out the swimming pool, the open gym session for families and kids, group exercise classes (including yoga and Pilates), cycling and more. Just stop by the Summit YMCA Welcome Center and be sure to bring a photo identification card and complete a waiver. Have you ever wanted to become a hero and give a deserving dog or cat a forever home? Volunteer-based nonprofit Home for Good Dog Rescue, which serves Summit, Berkeley Heights and nearby communities, will be part of Macy's Shop for a Cause at Short Hills Mall Saturday starting at 8 a.m.  Over the past eight years, Macy’s annual ‘Shop For A Cause’ has raised more than $46 million for local and national charities. The retailer has provided Home for Good with shopping passes it is selling for $5 each, with all proceeds going to support the animal rescue and foster home network. Some of you call this late summer, but to many, this is the season for finding a college. For them, Saturday is All College Day at Union County College.  Come to the Cranford campus for the rain or shine event, which starts at 11 a.m., and learn about clubs, meet fellow student and alumni, take a campus tour and get ready for the fall semester.
