Here is a rather revealing commentary on how a young ‘starry-eyed’ liberal college graduate can have her eyes opened by literally confronting and dealing with the everyday aspects of government-provided Medicaid. Her observations appear to be right on target, as they exemplify the abuse and misuse of our Medicaid program. Obviously, there are many Medicaid recipients and users, who do not fall into this category, but my sense is that they are outweighed, figuratively and literally, by all the others. All in all this is a perfect example of the old adage that ‘people who don’t pay, don’t care’. And, unfortunately, I don’t believe this mindset is going to change in the near future.
