Have eaten there several times and will definitely not return. Great space, but needs to be broken up to provide a more intimate feel. Menu is limited. Food is tasty. Prices are ridiculous considering the portions. Bar menu is decent. Staff is no where to be found once you place your order, and I always seem to ask for missing items, e.g. ketchup, a napkin, and fork, etc. Would love to like the place, but what's the draw?

Had dinner at the HAT Tavern earlier this week and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the staff.

I got a burger made just the way I like it and I haven't had one better in the area. The selection of craft beer is excellent, too!

I love the atmosphere and being able to view the work of local artists while I eat is a nice touch. HAT Tavern is a 45 minute ride for me, but I'll still go back every chance I get!

Awesome Burgers (1/2 pound), Great craft beer and wine by the glass selection, resonable prices, friendly staff; what else could you ask for!

I don't know what the naysayers are talking about; there's only one way to find out; go for yourself!

Been there twice. Both times the food was mediocre, the service amateurish, the burgers cooked wrong when they finally arrived 35 minutes later. My advice: Pass the Hat.

I LOVE Hat Tavern!! I have been there a couple of times and the Service , food and ambiance couldn't have been better. How can you beat a glass of wine or mix drink for $ 5.50.?? The burgers are great ,inventive and HOT! Also , the wings , spring rolls and calamari were fantastic. This is Summit's best kept secret, so if you don't like it don't go back...Leave room for others that do enjoy it. ***** Rating for me. Toyn Melchionna

This was a disappointing evening. It was clearly a place for hotel guests and not for locals. The food was mediocre -- appetizers and main courses were warm, not hot. Burgers were fair. We sat outside and were bothered by people smoking.

They do a good job promoting the restaurant online, but it fails to live up to their descriptions. We won't be back.

Thom...I could not disagree more. This place is the best kept secret in Summit. My burger was on of the best I have ever had! It was juicy and just amazing!
service was amazing, ask for Arun, he was so nice to the kids, what a great family -friendly place!

I had the chipotle burger here last weekend. It was awesome! The drink prices were reasonable, too. The entertainment was okay, I guess - just kidding, actually it was me. But, seriously, I can't wait to go back.

The people who run the restaurant operation at The Grand Summit Hotel have once managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. In the past the food operations have been mediocre and chosen only when there were no other options. I ahd eagerly anticipated the latest incarnation "The Hat Tavern" as it seemed to fill a niche here in Summit.

Sadly, my first (and the last) visit was very disappointing. The most glaring fault was the star of the menu, the hamburgers. They had been ordered medium and arrived very well done. And this was on a slow night. If they can't get the "meat" of the menu right what else can they do? In addition the french fries were run-of-the-mill frozen kind. And the onion rings which at the previous operation were sensational had been replaced with more out of the bag frozen too.

It's a shame. We really could use a decent moderately priced bar and restaurant in town. The Hat needs to be passed.
