I went to Monster Sushi for lunch today and I ordered the Mango Tropical Roll. It had tuna, salmon, and mango.

I got the roll, took a bite, and immediately realized that the fish had gone bad. I do a lot of fishing, particularly pacific salmon (which turn while they're still alive), so I know what fish smells/tastes like when it's gone bad. It was so bad that I had the gag reflex and, frankly, I'm sorry I swallowed it because that could easily cause food poisoning.

A few other members of my party tasted it (despite my warnings) and had the same reaction.

The waiter came and I explained the problem. He said "would you like to order something else?" I asked him specifically if I would have to pay for the bad roll and he said, "of course not!" So, I ordered a bento box.

The check came and the bad roll was still on there. I looked up at the waiter and asked, "weren't you supposed to take this off?" He said, "I never said that and no, I can't take it off because it was already made." I was furious. I couldn't believe that they served me food so rancid it was DANGEROUS and then expected me to pay for it!

In the end, my LUNCH ended up costing over $40. I will never go back there again. I've been to a lot of sushi places in a lot of different parts of the world and I have NEVER been served bad fish. Having fresh fish is like rule #1 of running a sushi place.

If you like to roll the dice when it comes to your own health, eat here. You'll find it fun.
