Best pizza in town...hands down; Menu and prices are solid; staff and limited seating are what brought my rating down to a 3.
Village Trattoria
908-608-1441
Opened in 2005, Village Trattoria is a franchise pizzeria with additional locations in Maplewood and South Orange. The casual pizza shop and Italian restaurant offers a full menu of appetizers, salads, hot and cold seven-inch subs, pastas, baked Italian dishes and soups, as well as a children's menu. Diners should keep an eye out for nightly specials, displayed on a chalk board above the pizza counter. Though they don't deliver, the restaurant does offer curb-side pick-up.
The shop is beautifully painted to resemble an outdoor cafe on the streets of Italy. In addition to the dining room, there is sidewalk seating in the summer.

Never had a bad meal here. Arugula salad with chicken and linguini with white clam sauce are my favorites. Manhattan clam soup is great, too.
This place makes good pizza, one of the tastiest among the (many) pizzerias in Summit. However, the service is so incredibly inept and rude that I refuse to go there. This is the closest pizzeria to where I live but I will walk right past it to go elsewhere just to avoid the surly individuals behind the counter.

I always enjoy grabbing a slice or two here. Always a great variety of toppings. When I want something other than a plain slice, Village Trattoria is where I go. I've also had a great meatball parm sandwich there.
