The Watchung Reservation is the largest park in Union County. Split between Summit, Mountainside, Berkeley Heights, Springfield and Scotch Plains, the reservation consists of 1,945 acres of forested land, Lake Surprise, the Watchung Stables and the Trailside Nature and Science Center. It has hiking trails, playgrounds and picnic areas.
