There are many kinds of reiki practitioners, just as there are many kinds of acupuncture. All, however, claim to be manipulating ki to assist in healing. The evidence for the existence of ki is the same as the evidence for suggestion and conditioning. Applying Occam's razor, we find no need for ki to explain how reiki works.
Is reiki or any other energy healing dangerous? The practices are not inherently dangerous, but they could be deadly to patients who try to treat something like diabetes or cancer by having someone wave her hands in the air over parts of the body or stick needles in the neck or thigh. Read, for example, the tragic story of Debra Harrison, a diabetic and co-founder of a type of energy healing called Consegrity, who was in effect killed by her own medicine.

SMC is what that doctor ordered to remain healthy and has been noted a wonderful alternative holistic approach to their field because they have found that their patients are calmer during treatment(s) and are able to response much more to medicine because the stress of it was diminished because that is what meditation does, diminishes worries, stress and etc. and replace it with a positive sense of being. I cannot believe no one said La Pastaria, it's a long standing part of the community that has wonderful food, especially their Chicken Meatballs " their best kept secret" and awesome bolognese.
Fiorino's is by far the best! It's reputation is excellent and has customers from all over NJ.
Marco Polo? Need I say more? It's been successful in Summit forever, why? Because its just really good food, not fancy, but consistently good.
And food! Unique menu and very good.

Now of course, any self-respecting Indian would take pains to spice up the abovementioned "offenders" of steak and meatloaf. But it would be incorrect to assume that those dishes would NEVER grace the table in many an Indian home.
As for the other fine dishes that Bombay Bistro serves up...they're pretty darn good too!

SDI’s new board has a rare opportunity to make a real contribution to improve Summit’s…Read More downtown. Downtown commercial property owners have replaced many vacant retail and office spaces with exciting new tenants. The redevelopment projects 1 DeForest Ave, and Claremont Corp. Ctr. are finished and fully leased. Expansion and redevelopment projects near downtown like the Promenade, Equinox, Kent Place School, Overlook and Merck are mostly completed. A few projects remain and are expected to come online soon. While SDI’s charge is somewhat limited to a specific downtown area it should be obvious that SDI can’t be effective if it ignores opportunity just beyond its boundary.
So what can SDI do to help?
First, SDI must participate in the parking debate. Parking remains the number 1 problem for retailers and customers. Now it is a pricing and policy issue.
Second, SDI must help promote categories of new business like food related retailers and fashion/fitness merchants. SDI is ideally suited to help build categorical awareness of new businesses
Third, SDI must participate in downtown planning discussions. SDI is in the position to solicit meaningful comments from tenants and property owners.
SDI has been criticized in the past for not doing enough. This SDI board is a capable group of volunteers and they can accomplish a great deal.
