Firefighters Extinguish Car Fire On Route 24

No one was injured in the blaze, fire officials said

Summit firefighters said they extinguished a car fire that took place on Route 24 this morning. The car fire took place on Route 24 westbound in the area of Exit 7A, fire officials said. No one was injured in the blaze, fire officials said.

Summit Runner O'Neill Reported Safe Following Boston Marathon

O'Neill was still running when the bombs went off at the Boston Marathon.

Runner Meaghan O’Neill, 18, of Summit is the final runner from the city reported safe following the bombings on Monday at the Boston Marathon. Patch tried to reach out to the O’Neill’s phone number listed on the White Pages following the marathon, but the line was off the hook. According to an individual race tracker, O’Neill reached the 40K mark at 2:51:13 p.m. The Alternative Press published an article on her experience in Boston. They quoted O’Neill saying: "It was really kind of crazy. There were lots of tears, mostly, I think, out of uncertainty of the situations of loved ones near the finish line. I'm a little confused by the first paragraph. It says Meaghan was the 'final runner from the city reported safe.' Do you mean from the City of Boston? Weren't there over 20,000 runners at the marathon? I'm thinking you meant the City of Summit but how many runners were there from Summit who participated in the Boston Marathon?   more ›

Computer, Phones Seized From Suspected Bombers' Sister

Authorities took potential evidence from Ailina Tsarnaev of West New York at the same time her younger brother was being taken into custody in Watertown, Massachusetts.

FBI agents and local police spent several hours in a West New York apartment Friday night removing computers, cell phones and other belongings from the residence of Ailina Tsarnaev, the sister of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, according to northjersey.com. A police presence in the form of one cruiser vehicle was stationed in front of the apartment building Saturday morning, the report said, and the officer on duty did not know how long the detail was scheduled to last. Officials told northjersey.com a 24-hour police presence would be placed outside the apartment. It was not known if Tsarnaev was still in the residence Saturday. Tsarnaev’s brothers, Dzhokhar A. Thursday afternoon the FBI released surveillance photos and video of the two men they believe are suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings. In a press conference Thursday, Special Agent Rick DesLauriers asked for the public's help identifying the men. The man the FBI is calling "Suspect 2" was seen leaving a backpack near the site of the second explosion just minutes before it occured. "Somebody out there knows these individuals as friends, neighbors, coworkers or family members of the suspects," DesLauriers said. "Though it may be difficult, the nation is counting on those with information to come forward and provide it to us." My Great* Uncle Richard gave some land to his son John in 1641 as appreciation for taking care of him when he was sick.
