Summit Crime Report: Lexus Stolen, Muni Vandalized

Editor’s note: The following information was supplied by the Summit Police Department.

Summit Police saw their third car theft report in 10 days this week when a Lexus RX3 was reported stolen from a Woodland Avenue home's garage. Police report that the crime occurred between 8:30p.m. on June 26 and 9:30a.m. on June 27.  Previously, a 2006 Chrysler 300 was reported stolen on June 19, and on June 20 a 1997 Honda was reported stolen. In other crime news $150 was stolen from the Summit Municipal Golf Course in a case of alleged criminal mischief. The money was in a safe on the property. According to police, sometime between 9p.m. on June 26 and 5a.m. the next day a flag was also stolen, a door kicked in, and tire marks were left on the golf course. Purse With IPhone Stolen During School Play

The following information was supplied by the Summit Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

A parent volunteer's purse, containing a new iPhone was stolen during the Washington school's production of The Owls of Oz last month. According to a police report, a purse and its contents, valued at over $900, was stolen from a school hallway during the play.  Washington school principal Lauren Banker issued a plea via the school's website asking for the return of the purse. "Please check your children and homes to see if someone inadvertently picked up and took home a purse that didn’t belong to them," she wrote to school parents. The $300 purse contained a $200 wallet, and iPhone 4s, cash, ID and credit cards, according to police. "This is a very unfortunate situation, as this parent now has to replace all that was in her purse, …

Police Blotter: Drug Arrest on River Road and Stolen Gun Reported

Dec. 3 Police arrested Ronald A. Perry II, 18, of Summit around 1:55 a.m. on Morris Avenue, on a charge of disorderly conduct. Dec. 4 A wallet was reported stolen from the men's locker room at the YMCA between 10 a.m. and noon. The wallet contained a credit card, ID and about $50 in cash.  Dec. 5 Katherine Paul, 53, of Springfield was arrested on Ashwood Avenue for theft of movable property. A Summit resident reported a .44 magnum was stolen from his home within the past four months.  Zachary J. Feeney, 19, of Chatham was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on River Road for alleged possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Police Blotter: Items Stolen from 10 Victims at Summit High School Men's Locker Room

The following arrest information was supplied by the Summit police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Jason J. Reidinger, 27, of North Plainfield, was arrested On October 4 at 8:24 p.m. at Union Place for burglary in the third degree. Jalessa Torres, 22, of Newark, was arrested on October 18 for theft by deception in the fourth degree and forgery in the third degree. Nasir I. Muhammad, 23, of Newark, was arrested on October 18 for hindering apprehension. Juliana Zapata, 26, of Paramus, was arrested on October 20 at 3:42 p.m. at DeForest Avenue for shoplifting. Craig Burns, 47 was arrested on October 20 at 12:18 p.m. at Summit Avenue for contempt of court. Police Blotter: iPhone Stolen From Gym Bag at YMCA

The following arrest information was supplied by the Summit police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On Oct. 4, a Union Place restaurant reported a burglary. Nothing was reported missing.   On Oct. 5, a vehicle theft was reported. A 2011 VW Jetta was reported stolen from a Fernwood Road residential driveway. On Oct. 5, an Edgemont Avenue resident reported an entry to a vehicle parked in front of the home.
