The varsity team extended its winning streak to four games following Monday's match-up at home against Columbia.
The Summit Varsity Lacrosse team extended it's record to 12-2 Monday, following a high-scoring win over Columbia High School. For the second time in a week, the Hilltoppers managed to hold their opponent to one point, while scoring double digits. The lacrosse team defeated Columbia 16-1, scoring nine points in the first half of the game, to give them a significant edge going into halftime. Seniors Liam Menning and Austin Carbone picked up four and five goals, respectively, NJ.com reported Monday night. The team next heads to Ridgewood for a 4 p.m. game on May 14.

Bridgewater-Raritan ends Summit's 68-game win streak and denies Hilltoppers third straight T of C victory.
For the first time since April 1, 2009 the Summit boys lacrosse team lost a game and it was a big one. Their magnificent unbeaten streak of 68 straight games and hopes of a third consecutive NJSIAA Tournament of Champions win was ended by the gritty and determined Group 4 State Champion Panthers of Bridgewater-Raritan High School who beat the Hilltoppers 6-5 in front of a huge championship crowd at Rutgers University. The 20-2 Panthers made the most of their first trip to the T of C and beat the Group 2 State Champion Hilltoppers at their own game, playing tough defense, picking up every loose ball and making huge plays late to give them the lead and the huge upset win. Strong defensive effort propels Summit boys lacrosse to victory over Delbarton Wednesday night.

The Summit High boys lacrosse team advanced to the Tournament of Champions final after stopping the Delbarton School, 10-5, in a semifinal round matchup at Kean University on Wednesday. Summit will face Bridgewater-Raritan High School in the T of C finals at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Rutgers University. Fueled by a strong defensive performance by Summit goalie Pete Badgley and the Hilltoppers’ defensive unit, Summit never trailed on Wednesday and took home the teams’ 68th consecutive victory. After a thrilling five-overtime, 7-6 victory, over seventh-ranked Chatham five days ago to capture their third straight Group championship, Summit has set its sights on something they are used to having in their possession. Goal by Sonny Round edges Summit over Chatham, 7-6.
After 66 straight wins and two sectional championships, the Summit boys lacrosse team stopped Chatham High, 7-6, in a five overtime thriller at Ridge High to earn its third straight Group II championship on Thursday, fueled by a Sonny Round game-winner. With both teams trading goals for much of the second half, a scoring drought consumed the final five minutes of the fourth frame, as well as the following four overtime periods, before Round secured Summits’ 67th straight win with 2:26 remaining in the games’ fifth OT. “It was at the point where everyone is just running on empty,” Round said after the win. “Nick Kilkowski set a fantastic pick…I came hard off of it and luckily I got the look, and luckily I put the ball in the net.” For …

Hilltoppers face Chatham for second time this season at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge at 5 p.m.
The Hilltoppers are looking for a three-peat. Summit (21-0), the top-ranked team in the state, seeks its third consecutive title and puts its 66-game, three-year win streak on the line as it faces seventh-ranked Chatham (16-5), for the NJSIAA, Group 2 championship at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge tonight at 5 p.m. Since a 7-6 come-from-behind road victory against Ridgewood on May 10, the Hilltoppers have outscored its opponents, 73-8, in its last five games (including three state tournament contests), holding its opponents to just two goals per game in four of those matchups. The Summit boys lacrosse team plowed through Montville Thursday in the sectional quarterfinals, 14-2. IN SHORT The No. 1 seed Hilltoppers made easy work of the Montville Mustangs in the sectional quarterfinal game. Summit shared the scoring efforts and only allowed Montville to squeeze two points on the board. HILLTOPPER OF THE GAME Nick Kilkowski—Five goals on 13 shots. Kilkowski once again led the Hilltoppers in a dominating performance. The senior is also the team's leading scorer this season with 58 goals on 118 shots. Hiltoppers extend three-year win streak to 60 games.
The Summit boys lacrosse team had their 60-game win streak tested during their game against Ridgewood. However, like the previous 60 games, Summit ended on top, winning 7-6. IN SHORT Things looked desperate for the Hilltoppers halfway through the game against Ridgewood. The team's outlook didn't improve through most of the second half. Summit was down a goal with just 2:30 left in the game before Sonny Round tied things up. Summit's real hero, however, was Mike Ford; who scored the winning goal with 30 seconds left on the clock as his teammates erupted with cheers on the sideline.
