Recovery Update: Up to 1,000 Summit Residents to Remain Without Power This Week

YMCA on Maple will remain a shelter for residents.

This alert from the City of Summit is an update on storm recovery. It was released around 2p.m. JCP&L crews are in Summit today replacing poles and electrical lines in order to restore electric service to homes and businesses. Tomorrow another 1,100 customers are estimated to have power restored with meaningful progress over the coming days. JCP&L is reporting that while more of the community will have power as of tomorrow evening, as many as 1,000 customers in Summit will still be with out power as of Saturday. Due to the lowering temperatures, the City suggests you find shelter with friends, family or a neighbor who has heat and power.  When street-by-street estimates of power restoration are received from JCP&L, they will be posted on …

Who will represent us? A call to the mayor reveals that she is not up to the task. JCP&L spin doctors have convinced our mayor that posted restoration figures are fact.
