Patch Poll: Paid Parking in Downtown Summit

It's been more than two weeks since the new paid parking system in Downtown Summit was unveiled and put into effect. Fees are now required in the parking lots on DeForest Avenue, Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. But parking is free after 6 p.m., on Sundays and on parking holidays, according to the city's website. In an article published on Jan. 14, Patch listed all of the details surrounding the new paid parking system, including how the system came to fruition, the price per hour, and how to pay for parking. Work great!! So easy to park now. Quick hits to stores are fast and free. I'm fine with paying for longer stays - would have fed the meter anyway. Now I know I can always get a spot quickly without employees taking up all the most valuable spots! Makes shopping in Summit a pleasure....   more ›
