Editor's Note: The following is a press release from NJ Assembly Republicans. Aiming to prevent a situation in which taxpayers get “Snook”-ered or public safety is compromised during the filming of reality television shows, Assemblyman Ronald S. Dancer announced today that he will introduce the “Snookiville Law” permitting towns to regulate them. “The popularity of MTV’s Jersey Shore and other reality shows can attract crowds to a community,” Dancer, R-Ocean, Burlington, Middlesex and Monmouth, said. “That can be great for local businesses and a costly challenge to a town’s ability to control crowds and protect public safety. Governor says he never wanted to be vice president during stop on Asbury Park boardwalk
Gov. Chris Christie on Monday wouldn't give a preview of his keynote address for next week's GOP convention, but did say why he thought he was chosen for the distinction. Dayton student becomes viral video star.
Melanie Rossomando had just turned 17. And she was scared. On a shore trip with her friends and family, she had taken a skyride for an aerial view of the beach. Without warning, the ride stopped. Stormclouds had gathered and she could see lightning all around her and a tornado forming in the distance. Meanwhile, she and her friend Herlide Joseph were stuck on a metal bench suspended 30 feet over the ground on a malfunctioning chairlift that had stopped moving. “I was terrified of being struck by lightning,” Rossomando said.
