Kerri Moran Breaks Oak Knoll's All-Time Scoring Record For Basketball

Moran, the #20 senior point guard, was 11 points shy of breaking the 1,357-point record going into Tuesday afternoon's game at Kent Place in Summit.

Senior Point Guard Kerri Moran shattered Oak Knoll’s all-time scoring record in basketball Tuesday afternoon at crosstown rival Kent Place. After scoring 18 points against Brearley on Monday — a 54-26 victory for the Royals — #20 Moran was just shy of breaking the 1,357-point record by 11 points. Moran made a lay up early in the third quarter to break the record. She later scored two additional points, setting the record even higher at 1,370 points. The Royals topped Kent Place, 59-15. “It’s really exciting and I never thought I was going to do it. Coming in as a freshman at Oak Knoll, I never thought I would be able to score a thousand points, let alone break the school record,” said Moran, who will play basketball at Cornell University …

The Royals had a fast start over crosstown rival Kent Place Tuesday afternoon. Plus, Kerri Moran broke Oak Knoll's all-time scoring record in basketball.

The Oak Knoll girls’ varsity basketball team crushed Kent Place Tuesday afternoon, 59-15. Kerri Moran, the Royals’ Senior Point Guard, also broke Oak Knoll’s all-time 1,357-point record in the third quarter. She scored 13 points in total, although she only needed 11 points to break the record. The Royals came out fast in the first quarter, outscoring Kent Place by 14 points. But the biggest deficit came in the third quarter, as Oak Knoll scored 17 points and shut out Kent Place. “We need to get out to fast starts against some teams,” said Head Coach John Bertollo. “That was good for us. When we score above 15 points in a quarter, that’s a good quarter.” Kent Place’s Lara Brachman Goldstein scored six points. Kent Place will now participate…
