On Monday, $70 worth of gas was reported stolen from the back of a West End Avenue home. According to police, between 11:30a.m. and 2:30p.m. two full 5-gallon gas cans were taken from the property. A Summit Avenue liquor store reportedly had items stolen between 5p.m. on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at 8:30a.m. Twenty bottles of juice, possibly including some liquor, according to police were taken from the store. Cash in the amount of $200 was reportedly stolen on Oct. 28, when a wallet was taken from a bag left inside a Union Place coffee shop. The alleged theft occurred in the afternoon between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. A yellow purse with about $525 cash inside of it was allegedly stolen from a Springfield Avenue hotel bar on the night of Oct. …

Ian T. Gammon, 23, of South Organce was arrested at Springfield Ave. at 12:30a.m. on Sept. 22. He was charged with possession of a controlled and dangerous substance. Daniel Nathan Johansen, 28, was arrested at 2p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license. The arrest took place at Summit Avenue and Industrial Place. Johansen is from Pleasanton, Calif.

On Tuesday, a pair of $350 sunglasses and a vehicle registration card were reported stolen from one car in the Broad Street Garage. Two other cars were damaged, one had its passenger side window smashed, and another car showed signs that someone was trying to break in according to a police report. The incident occured between 8a.m. and 11:30p.m. Arrests Brandon L. Moore, 21, of Tobhanna, PA, was arrested at Rt. 24 and Summit Avenue on a charge of contempt of court. Ashleigh A. Kast, 24, of Clark, arrested at Rt. 78 on a charge of contempt of court.

What could have been a weekend prank was recently logged as a case of criminal mischief by the Summit Police Department. Authorities say an Ashland Road residence was egged sometime between 11p.m. on Friday night and 7a.m. Saturday morning. Arrest Rodson Legrand, 25, of Bloomfield was arrested at JFK Parkway for allegedly driving while suspended.

There were several reported incidents of burglary last month according to Summit police reports. A Glenside Avenue resident reported a burglary and theft that occured on July 22 at around 3:30 p.m. A suspect reportedly entered the home while a another person diverted the homeowner's attention, according to reports. Nearly $2,000 was reported missing: $800.00 in American Express Traveler’s Checks, $400.00 Euro and $700.00 U.S. currency. An attempted burglary was reported on July 18, at a Canoe Brook Parkway home. The alleged incident occured between 7p.m. and 7:21p.m. Although there was no entry to the home, the door jam showed pry marks, according to the report. Last week, a string of thefts from vehicles were reported along Huntley Road. Between 7:30p.m. and 11p.m. on April 3, cars in the area were entered and items allegedly taken. In all, property valued at just over $450 was reported stolen from the vehicles. The earliest reported incident that night occurred between 9:15p.m. and 10:30p.m. when a $1 and a pack of cigarettes were stolen from a parked car. The second incident involved a car parked in a Huntley Road driveway. Between 7:30p.m. and 11p.m., according to a police report, a pair of black Serenaeti sunglasses valued at $250 was missing from the car. The final reported Huntley Road vehicle entry took place before 11:07p.m. and a total of $200 cash was reported missing from a wallet …

A parent volunteer's purse, containing a new iPhone was stolen during the Washington school's production of The Owls of Oz last month. According to a police report, a purse and its contents, valued at over $900, was stolen from a school hallway during the play. Washington school principal Lauren Banker issued a plea via the school's website asking for the return of the purse. "Please check your children and homes to see if someone inadvertently picked up and took home a purse that didn’t belong to them," she wrote to school parents. The $300 purse contained a $200 wallet, and iPhone 4s, cash, ID and credit cards, according to police.
