Hoboken service remains suspended, but the Port Authority and NJ Transit are offering alternate routes for commuters.
PATH service to the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan will resume Monday morning, according to the PATH website. Trains to the World Trade Center have been canceled since sustaining damage during Hurricane Sandy. PATH trains will run weekdays between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m in New Jersey through Newark, Harrison, Journal Square, Grove Street and Exchange Place. The final stops in New York City will be at the World Trade Center and 33rd St. Christopher and 9th St. stations in New York City have been restored to full service. NJ TRANSIT continues to adjust and refine its emergency trans-Hudson transportation plan to most efficiently match the available bus, rail and ferry resources with the needs of state citizens. NJ TRANSIT will expand the free emergency shuttle bus/ferry service and shuttle bus to rail service to improve the Trans-Hudson commute for the agency’s Gladstone Branch customers along the Morris & Essex Lines. A spokesman said damage along the Morris and Essex line was one of the worst of any transit rail line.
New Jersey Transit spokesman John Durso, Jr. has no estimate for when rail service along the Morris and Essex line will resume. "The damage wrought on the M&E was amongst the worst suffered by any NJ Transit rail line in the state," Durso said in an email to Patch. "There are no estimates ...
