Students and former students of Oak Knoll, Kent Place and SHS are welcome to apply for the Beverly Jeanne Welsh Scholarship.
The following information was provided by Kent Place School. Applications for the Beverly Jeanne Welsh Scholarship Fund will be available through the guidance offices at Kent Place School, Oak Knoll School and Summit High School beginning April 1. The Welsh Scholarship is open to young women who demonstrate financial need, who are permanent residents of Summit, NJ, and who currently attend or have graduated from one of these Summit high schools. It is available to students who will either enter college this fall, are currently enrolled as undergraduates, or who have completed an undergraduate degree and are seeking assistance for graduate or professional study. Here are a couple: Vienna Holmes of Summit received the 2012 Springfield Knights of Columbus Scholarship. The scholarship chair Nick Falzarano presented Holmes with her award. The Knights of Columbus Msgr. Frances X. Coyle Council 5560 recently awarded its annual college scholarship. This year's reciepient was Aidan Dougherty. Aidan graduated from Summit Senior High School and will be attending Villanova University in the Fall.

FASTACT has awarded the first FASTACT Ken Kuebler Memorial Scholarships to Bridget O'Brien and Jose Castro. Both athletes are Summit High School seniors graduating this month. FASTACT (Friends Advancing Summit Track and Cross Country Teams) selected Bridget and Jose based upon their individual and team accomplishments, leadership, and enthusiasm for Summit's Track and Cross Country program. The FASTACT scholarships were presented by Adam Fern, Head Coach of the Track & Field at Summit High School. O'Brien will attend Penn State University in the fall and Castro will attend the University of Maryland. Both were co-captains of the Track and Field Teams at Summit High School.
