Dickson Cites Summit's Successes, Challenges in State of City Address

Mayor Ellen Dickson delivered her “State of the City Address” during the Summit Common Council’s reorganization meeting Thursday night in Council Chambers. Dickson cited the progress made throughout the city in 2012, while also discussing challenges faced by residents and city officials alike. Superstorm Sandy The greatest challenge the city faced this year was Superstorm Sandy, Dickson said, which was “a harsh test.” Summit lost power for the third time in nearly 18 months, a source of stress and destruction for many, and physical hardship for others.
