For the first time ever the Summit Boosters Association will hold their holiday sales event at MONDO Summit, the home of the new Hilltop Shop. There will be free food and drinks available at the event, which helps to raise funds for Summit High School athletics and scholarships. It takes a small team to put together the celebrated Summit High School sports publication called Summit Hilltopper. Learn more in this interview with Summit Booster Melanie Wilson.
Melanie Wilson is more than just an involved parent. She's been president of the local school advocacy group Speak Up Summit, helped found a local women's business group and for the past four years helped publish one of the best high school programs around, the Summit Hilltopper. She recently shared her thoughts on the process and gave Patch the inside scoop on what it takes to create the yearly athletic program. Why does Summit need such a spectacular book? The scholarships were awarded this week to athletes attending schools such as Rutgers, University of Georgia and Penn State.
This year, as a result of the continued support of the community, the Boosters continued the tradition of providing eight Howard S. Anderson Scholar Athlete Awards. Four young men and four young women received scholarships of $1,000 each. This prestigious award is in honor of long-time Summit High School coach and athletic director, Howard S. Anderson. The Hilltopper-themed holiday event kicks-off at 7p.m.
The Summit Boosters Association hosts its annual Holiday Shopping Event Tuesday, November 15th, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event is an opportunity to buy an array of spirit wear and Summit-themed gifts. This is the perfect time to shop for all the important Hilltoppers in your life. Come early to take advantage of the special event-only discount pricing and gifts, with purchase. Beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be served. The event will take place at Westy Self Storage, 15 River Road in Chatham. Through Booster fundraising and the profits from the sales of merchandise, the Boosters raise money to enhance the athletic programs at the LCJSMS and Summit High School. Summit held its first Hilltopper Alumni Weekend. Festitives included the "Friday Night Lights" football game, boys & girls soccer games, a Summit High School open house & preformances by the students.

Tonight's Hilltopper Alumni Weekend kicks off with a series of events for Summit High schoolers young and old.
You won't want to miss the excitement as the "lights" return to Summit and our football team battles conference rival Governor Livingston on Friday, Oct. 14. Here's a list of events: Tailgate @ 5:30 P.M Join the Hilltopper faithful at the tailgate at Tatlock. Summit Music Parents will be selling hot dogs chicken nuggets and hot pretzels at the snack shack. Towne Deli will be selling menu favorites including pulled pork sandwiches, chili and macaroni and cheese. Members of the Summit High School marching band will be performing!
