Summit Crime Report: Home Burglaries, Bicycle and Laptop Thefts

There were several reported incidents of burglary last month according to Summit police reports. A Glenside Avenue resident reported a burglary and theft that occured on July 22 at around 3:30 p.m. A suspect reportedly entered the home while a another person diverted the homeowner's attention, according to reports. Nearly $2,000 was reported missing: $800.00 in American Express Traveler’s Checks, $400.00 Euro and $700.00 U.S. currency. An attempted burglary was reported on July 18, at a Canoe Brook Parkway home. The alleged incident occured between 7p.m. and 7:21p.m. Although there was no entry to the home, the door jam showed pry marks, according to the report.
