Summit Summies Win First Place at Igloo Invitational

The Summies' next meet will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, Feb. 17 at the Presidential Classic Invitational at Northern Elite Gymnastics in Flanders, NJ.

The Summit Summies Gymnastics Team from The Connection for Women & Families sent 47 gymnasts to the Igloo Invitational at CS Gymnastics in Flanders, NJ on Saturday, Jan. 26.  Copper, Bronze and Silver teams all won first place team awards.  The Platinum and Gold Teams competed unopposed in this meet, and had a great effort. The Copper team excelled at vault with Brianna Carnevale taking 1st place with an impressive score of 9.6.   Gretchen Probst came in 2nd with a score of 9.4.  Aria Malhotra took 3rd place with a score of 9.3.   Ashley McKoy received 1st place wins on bars (9.0) and floor (8.6).  Mia Murdock also shined on bars (8.85) and floor (9.0), earning 1st place awards on both. Summit Summies Kick Off Competition Season at Icicle Invitational

Copper and Bronze teams finished as Meet Champions, while the Silver and Gold Teams pulled out stellar performances.

The Summit Summies Gymnastics Team from The Connection for Women & Families sent 55 gymnasts to the Icicle Invitational at Northern Elite Gymnastics in Flanders, NJ on Saturday, Jan. 12 and Sunday, Jan. 13. Copper And Bronze Teams Finish as Meet Champions Copper and Bronze Teams finished as Meet Champions, each taking a 1st place Team Award.  Copper girls had six 1st place and four 2nd place wins across all events.  They finished with two 1st place, one 2nd place and two 3rd place wins in the all-around scores in their respective age groups. Summies Crown Multiple State and Inter-State Regional Champions

Summit's gymnastics team wins three overall team titles

The Summit Summies Gymnastics Team from The Connection for Women & Families sent 51 gymnasts to Wildwood over the Memorial Day holiday to compete in the N.J. State Championship against the best teams in the state. Later in the weekend, the Summies took on teams from New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland in the USAIGC Regional Championship.  The results built on a season of tremendous success, proving again that the Summies are a gymnastics force both within New Jersey, and in the Northeast Region as well.  The girls brought home 3 team titles, 6 All-Around titles, 21 event championships and more than 240 medals from their three-day extravaganza at the beach.   Copper Team Sweeps Team Awards -- NJ and Regional Champions The Summies Copper …

Summies Score at St. Patrick's Day Invitational

Forty-four Summies gymnasts attended the event on March 11th.

The Summit Summies Gymnastics Team from The Connection for Women & Families sent 44 gymnasts to the St. Patrick's Day Invitational at ENA Gymnastics in Pompton Plains, New Jersey on Sunday March 11th.  The team continues to improve and all Summies are now qualified to attend the State and Regional Championship to be held in May in Wildwood, New Jersey.   Copper Team Continues its Winning Ways   In the 6-8 year old age group, Catherine Singow finished 2nd overall with a 36.55.  She also won the vault (9.4) and floor (9.65).  Emily Weisman finished 4th with a 35.0.  She won 6th place on floor (9.3) and 4th on beam with a 8.6.  Sophie Wisniewski finished 8th in the all-around with a 33.8.  She won 3rd place on bars (8.5).    In the 9 year old…

Summies Hit Their Marks at Holiday Gymnastics Tournament

The young gymnasts are on their way to the State Championships in May.

The Summit Summies Gymnastics Team from The Connection for Women & Families spent the holiday weekend in sunny Florida (New York) for the "Florida in February" USAIGC Invitational.  All the gymnasts are well on their way to the State Championship which will take place in May.   Copper Team Sweeps All-Around   In the 6-8 year old age Kasey Walsh was the meet champion with a 37.7.  She also won bars (9.8) and vault (9.25).  Team-mate Catherine Singow finished 2nd with a 37.35, while winning beam (9.6) and finishing 2nd on bars (9.7).  Emily Weisman finished the Summies sweep finishing 3rd with a 36.55.  She also won third on bars (9.65) and 4th on floor (9.0).  Sofia Wilson finished with a season-high 35.10.  She also won 4th place on bars (…

Summit Summies Copper Team Wins L.I. Meet

Group effort makes for strong finish at USAIGC Team Cup.

The Summit Summies Gymnastics Team from The Connection for Women and Families sent 46 gymnasts to Long Island to compete in the USAIGC Team Cup against 13 teams from New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts the weekend of January 21-22.  This first meet of the 2012 season was a uniquely formatted team-only awards event.  No individual age-group awards were computed.  The Summies used this team meet as a tune-up for the upcoming season.  Most gymnasts competed only on their best events and the top scores, regardless of age groups, counted towards the team titles.    Copper Team Wins First Place  The Summies Copper team sent 17 girls to compete in their first-ever official meet.  The girls were dominant and won the meet convincingly.  …
