Summit Runner Advances to Meet of Champions
Senior Katie Watson moves on to MOC as Summit girls take fourth in Group II at Holmdel Saturday.
By the time the Summit girls cross country team had taken the course at Holmdel Park Saturday hundreds of runners, including the Hilltoppers' boys team had already competed. However, all but one of the girls runners ended their year on the Monmouth County course. The lone exception for the squads was senior Katie Watson who finished fourth in the Group II Championship race. With a time of 19:20, Watson did more than enough to keep her season and career going another week. And while her time was good by any standards, the group title went to Bernards junior Dana Giordano who ran the course in a blistering 18:46.
