ReplyI wasn't at the meeting last night because I was working for a publication that covers HS sports on a daily basis, but in the words of one professional basketball player, "We are talking about rims, not a game, not a game....we are talking about rims..." All the rims should be put back up at every park. Period. Law enforcement and the township committee once again should use this as a teaching tool, enforce and protect the parks for the people that use it. And the fact that this town can't even do that, shows you why other towns prosper and we continue to be wading in the status quo.

ReplyCommon Sense. A lot of work has gone into these parks to refurbish them and to take rims down, when the whole purpose of a park, is for people to play and use the facilities that are in the park..I simply don't understand. If the kids or older adults are misusing the park, this should be a teaching tool - "don't mess this place up or these rims are going to be taken down and you have to find somewhere else to play." And when the rims do go back up in the spring, what do you think will happen? I agree with Incredulous. And Springfield, guess what, a lot of people like to play basketball LOL in town and aboard and when players find a great court they can play at, they are going to play there. The rims should be back up (Common Sense) and the people that use the park should have, guess what, Common Sense.
