Mike’s family moved to Summit in 1958 into a house on Lafayette Avenue that his father built. He attended Summit Junior High and Summit High School, graduating in 1964, where he was a National Honors Society student,  played the Crown Prince in the Summit High Production of “The King and I,”  and played football on the Hilltoppers ’62 and ’63 teams that were back to back State Champions.  The ’63 squad was legendary Coach Howie Anderson’s first undefeated team.

Mike went on to Princeton where he continued playing football and was elected VP of the Engineering Society.  He earned three scholarships and held as many as three jobs at one time to finance his education. Mike was graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

Mike and Joanne have been married 40 years. They initially settled in Short Hills where Mike became very active in Community Service.  He served as President of his local civic association and was elected to council and then Mayor.

Mike wanted to raise his adopted son in Summit, his real home, so they returned. Mike became very involved in youth sports and to this day still coaches football and baseball.  Mike was elected to Council in 2005 and served as Chairman of the Public Safety Committee for 4 years, a position he took very seriously.

Mike’s profession has taken him around the world developing, designing and building large scale projects. He currently is a Managing Principal of Landmark MVM Realty Advisors, providing planning, design and construction services to real estate developers.
