Take a Closer Look at the Merck Campus

Brochure highlights features of the 1.5M square foot R&D pharmaceutical, clinical supply and commercialization campus.

Following a meeting held last week between Merck officials, Summit Mayor Ellen Dickson, Common Council President Rich Madden and City Administrator Chris Cotter, William Mayo, Director of Global Real Estate at Merck, provided the attached brochure, offering an in-depth look at Merck's 90-acre campus.

The pharmaceutical giant announced plans in October to close its Summit site amid a top-to-bottom restructuring that could slash as many as 8,500 jobs companywide.

Available for sale, the 1.5 million square foot multi-building campus consists of: chemistry and biotech R&D, pilot plant, multiple dose clinical supply manufacturing, warehousing, automated sample repository and corporate offices.

According to the attached brochure, on-site amenities include: spacious 900-seat cafeteria with abundant natural light, 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center with locker rooms, barista/company store, fire/hazmat facility and a picturesque walkable setting. Parking for 3,160 is available and includes a 5-story parking garage.

Following Merck's announcement, Dickson told Patch, “The Summit campus is a highly desirable location and never stays available for long. We are optimistic that Merck’s departure will be another company's gain."
